US: Small plane lands safely on Phoenix area freeway
Some morning commuters in the Phoenix area were met with an airplane on the freeway Tuesday. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the pilot of a small single-engine aircraft had reported engine trouble after taking off from an airfield in Mesa, Arizona, a Phoenix suburb. There was one passenger on board. State troopers and their vehicles surrounded the plane in order to keep traffic in line. Officials from the Arizona Department of Transportation tweeted that crews moved the plane and nobody was hurt.
