US: New York's Times Square ball drop brings in 2021

New York City celebrated the arrival of 2021 with the traditional ball drop in Times Square. However, the massive crowds that typically attend the event were absent due to the coronavirus. Police fenced off the site synonymous with New Year’s Eve to prevent crowds of any size from gathering. Small groups in individual sections waved balloons and cheered as the new year arrived.
