In response to an attack on a US base in Jordan that resulted in the deaths of three American soldiers and injuries to around 40 others, the United States initiated a military strike. The 30-minute-long operation targeted 85 sites across seven locations, focusing on the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and allied militias. Four of the sites were in Syria, while three were in Iraq. The strikes involved firing over 125 precision-guided munitions. One targeted site in Al-Qaim housed an armed faction's headquarters, specifically a light weapons warehouse, resulting in eight reported civilian injuries in western Anbar. Another strike targeted an operations command center linked to the Popular Mobilization Forces, an alliance integrated into Iraq's official armed forces.
