Health care workers hoisting umbrellas and waving handkerchiefs danced and clapped as a jazz band performed in their honor outside a New Orleans hospital. It was a joyous moment of reprieve during what's been a stressful time for the city's health care industry in one of the nation's coronavirus hot spots. And it was made possible by a New York resident – teacher, classical pianist and jazz enthusiast Emily Bauman, who collaborated with the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra to put on the "Stimulus Serenade" to give moral support to front-line hospital workers and COVID-19 patients. Hospital workers on the ground say they're grateful Bauman chose to recognize New Orleans.
