US: Chuck Schumer blasts Fox’s Carlson for January 6 broadcast

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is blasting Fox News host Tucker Carlson for “lying to his audience” Monday night in a broadcast to explain away the January 6 insurrection. Schumer called the Monday night Fox News episode from Carlson “one of the most shameful hours we have ever seen on television.” House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s decision to unleash a trove of Jan. 6 Capitol attack footage to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson has launched a wholesale Republican effort to rewrite the history of the deadly siege. Schumer also blasted McCarthy for releasing the video. “What a low point for Speaker McCarthy. What a low point for Fox News,” Schumer said on the Senate floor.
