Petroleum Ministry officials say gas distribution companies are offering incentives to attract new consumers. Indraprastha Gas Limited, GAIL and Bharat Petroleum are among those rolling out promotional benefits. PNG is seen as a cleaner and more convenient fuel because it is supplied directly through pipelines, removing the need for cylinder storage and deliveries. The push also aligns with India’s broader plan to expand city gas distribution networks. Officials say the transition could strengthen fuel supply efficiency while supporting cleaner energy adoption nationwide.
