The fragile ceasefire between the United States and Iran is facing renewed pressure, as differences emerge over its scope and enforcement particularly regarding Israel’s ongoing operations in Lebanon. Donald Trump has reportedly urged Benjamin Netanyahu to scale back strikes in Lebanon, reflecting growing concern in Washington that continued escalation could derail diplomatic efforts with Tehran. The request came amid reports that Israeli operations would continue, highlighting a widening gap between US efforts to stabilise the ceasefire and Israel’s military objectives against Hezbollah.
