Iran has launched a sweeping internal crackdown following the assassination of Ali Larijani, a top aide to Mojtaba Khamenei. According to an IRGC-linked media outlet, Tehran’s intelligence ministry announced that 111 individuals were arrested across 26 provinces in what it described as a nationwide operation against opposition “royalist” cells and alleged foreign spies. Among those detained, four are accused of working for the United States, allegedly reporting locations of military headquarters, equipment, and security deployments. The arrests come amid heightened tensions in the region, with Iran claiming retaliatory strikes on U.S. and Israeli military targets in the Gulf. Authorities also stated that weapons were seized during the operations.
