An earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale caused widespread damage in Taiwan. Many roads and bridges were damaged leading to people being stranded. A train was also derailed due to the quake. Japan issued a Tsunami warning following the quake as the epicentre of the tremor was off the Taiwan coast. The latest quake followed a 6.4 magnitude quake in the same region a day earlier on September 17. Although, no casualties have been reported from both the tremors.
