Russia has reportedly approved a major defence treaty with Iran, right as tensions between Tehran and Washington soar. The deal, called a “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” aims to boost military, political, and economic ties between Moscow and Tehran. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko says the agreement will help both countries counter shared security threats. However, it stops short of a full mutual defense pact.
