UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer praised India’s rapid economic growth during his first visit to the country, predicting it would become the world’s third-largest economy by 2028. Standing beside PM Modi, Starmer’s comments were seen as a subtle response to Donald Trump’s earlier claim that India’s economy was “dead.” Starmer endorsed Modi’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision and called for stronger UK-India ties in a changing global order.
