Some top Republican are rushing to former President Donald Trump’s defense after he said he's bracing for possible arrest. At a GOP conference in Orlando, Florida, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, told reporters that the lawsuit against the former president in New York hinges on one main witness, who Jordan is skeptical of. “Their star witness is Michael Cohen, who we all know has had trouble in the past with telling the truth, so. In fact, when he testified, the first big hearing Democrats had back in 2019, first big hearing that Congress, was Michael Cohen in front the Oversight Committee, and he lied six times in front of our committee,” Jordan said. When pressed by reporters if he thinks the former president committed a crime, he quickly said ‘no.’ “We don't think President Trump broke the law at all. But what concerns me is what they're going to do based on what's been reported.”
