President Vladimir Putin visited wounded Russian servicemen at the Mandryka Military Hospital, thanking them for gifting him bullet-marked icons on his 73rd birthday. He praised the sacred items for protecting soldiers’ lives and emphasized their special value. Putin also wished the servicemen a speedy recovery. The gifts were originally presented during a visit to St. Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg.
