Iran has reportedly launched a series of drone strikes targeting U.S. military assets in the Middle East, destroying the American AN/FPS-117 radar near Al Qaisum airport in Saudi Arabia, a system valued at around $20 million with a range of 460 kilometres. The strikes are said to be part of a broader strategy to weaken U.S. and allied surveillance capabilities in the region. Additional claims suggest multiple high-value radar systems across Qatar, Jordan, and the UAE have also been destroyed. In response, the U.S. has increased aerial surveillance using E-3 Sentry systems and redeployed air assets, including THAAD systems, to the region.
