Iran’s crackdown on nationwide protests is widening, with disturbing new details emerging from inside the country. An exclusive report says Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and plainclothes security forces have raided the homes of families whose relatives were killed during recent demonstrations, firing shots, ransacking homes, and issuing threats. Families were allegedly forced to collect bodies in the pre-dawn hours, bury victims quietly, and even pay fees for the use of live ammunition. Authorities have also published lists of cafes and shopping malls accused of supporting protests, ordered the seizure of protesters’ assets, and declared anyone arrested after a protest call by exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi a criminal. Iranian Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni said the authorities would act 'quickly' to deal with rioters, amid recent protests in the country. "These are the people who really behead people, burn them, set them on fire. Well, if we want to do something, we need to do it quickly and on time," he said. Earlier, Iranian Supreme Court Chief Mohammad Jafar Montazeri said that "judicial action against rioters will be firm and within the law, but it will no longer involve leniency or tolerance as in the past".
