A major geopolitical shift appears to be underway as Israel reportedly abandons its plan to annex parts of the occupied West Bank. The decision comes after direct warnings from its Arab ally, the United States. This comes after a high-level meeting between Netanyahu and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed in New York. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, announced that the "file is closed" on annexation, crediting the UAE's decisive position. The UAE had previously warned that annexation would be a "red line" and would severely undermine the Abraham Accords.
