Tehran was decked in flags and missile displays as Iran marked the 47th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Massive marches took place across more than 1,400 locations, while President Masoud Pezeshkian apologised to those affected by recent protests and denied Iran seeks nuclear weapons. Social media footage showed dissenting chants from balconies on the eve of the celebrations. As nuclear negotiations with the United States continue and military tensions simmer, the anniversary unfolded against a backdrop of internal strain and geopolitical uncertainty.
