Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has released dramatic footage allegedly showing a large-scale nighttime attack on US Navy warships in the Strait of Hormuz, escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington to a dangerous new level. Videos aired by Iranian media showed missiles launching into the night sky, attack drones flying over the Persian Gulf and explosions lighting up the strategic maritime corridor. The IRGC claimed it launched anti-ship ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and suicide drones targeting three American destroyers operating near the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian officials described the operation as “highly extensive and precise” and claimed US forces were forced to retreat after coming under heavy missile fire.
