'Hormuz Is Ours': Iran Claims U.S. Vessel Attacked In Gulf After Submarine Torpedoes Iranian Warship
Iran has claimed to have struck a U.S. oil tanker in northern Persian gulf, days after the United States military sunk an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean. According to the IRGC-linked Tasnim news agency, the Iranian naval warships targeted a U.S. oil tanker using missile, sparking fire in the vessel. Tehran has warned American, Israeli, European, and allied vessels against entering the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil shipping routes. The IRGC says any ship attempting to pass through the waterway could be targeted.
