Hezbollah's operations division head, Ibrahim Aqil, was killed in an Israeli strike in Beirut's southern suburbs. Reports indicate that children were among several civilians killed in the attack, which Israel described as a "targeted strike." Aqil was the chief of Hezbollah's elite Radwan unit and a key commander responsible for strategic military plans. He was also one of the founders of Hezbollah's military wing and was wanted by the U.S. for his involvement in past attacks on American soldiers in Lebanon, including the 1983 U.S. Embassy bombing and the Marine Corps barracks bombing.
