Hawaii Tsunami: Oprah Winfrey Under Fire For Allegedly CLOSING Road For Evacuees, She Responds

Oprah Winfrey is facing intense backlash online after being accused of blocking access to her private road in Maui, Hawaii, during a mass evacuation prompted by a tsunami warning. The controversy erupted after a powerful 8.8-magnitude earthquake off Russia’s eastern coast triggered tsunami alerts across the Pacific, sparking panic and gridlock in parts of Hawaii. Social media users alleged that Winfrey’s private Wailea-to-Kula road could have eased traffic and saved time for evacuees. Amid growing outrage, Winfrey’s spokesperson issued a statement denying the claims, saying the road was opened immediately in coordination with local law enforcement and FEMA to assist residents.
