A fresh wave of drone attacks has rocked the United States Embassy in Baghdad, triggering air defence systems and explosions inside the heavily fortified Green Zone. Footage shows defensive fire lighting up the night sky before a blast and fire engulf parts of the compound. According to reports, multiple explosive-laden drones targeted the facility, with at least one crashing inside the embassy complex, sparking a blaze. Nearby areas, including the al-Dura district, also reported damage from falling debris and shockwaves. The attack comes amid escalating tensions following ongoing US-Israel strikes on Iran and retaliatory drone and missile barrages across the Middle East. With nearly 300 drones reportedly targeting US missions in Iraq alone, Washington has ordered a global security review across all its diplomatic posts.
