U.S. President Donald Trump has sent a letter to all NATO nations urging an end to the Russia-Ukraine war through strategic economic measures. Trump called out NATO members for continuing to buy Russian oil, labelling it “shocking,” and proposed imposing 50% to 100% tariffs on China’s purchases of Russian petroleum. He emphasised that such steps could weaken China’s control over Russia and help end the conflict. In the letter, Trump blamed his predecessor Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for the war, while excluding Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump’s letter came amid tensions following Russian drone incursions into Polish airspace. Poland shot down multiple drones, recovering parts of 17 Russian-made drones.
