U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams has stopped at a Chicago hospital to observe the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines in the state. Gov. J.B. Pritzker's office says Illinois expects about 234,450 vaccine doses this week. Adams, who got his shot last week, commented that the amount of reported reactions to coronavirus vaccinations is about what would be expected for any vaccine. Adams also met with top public health officials in Illinois. He's encouraging people to continue social distancing measures during the holidays and for people not to celebrate with those outside their households. Illinois reported 6,239 new confirmed and probable cases on Tuesday including 116 deaths. Overall, Illinois has reported 911,308 cases, including 15,414 deaths.
