Christians around the world observed Good Friday. In the Philippines, some re-enacted the crucifixion of Jesus Christ in San Fernando City, north of the capital Manila. It was the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently hospitalized Pope Francis presided over the Passion of the Lord prayer service at St. Peter's Basilica in Italy. Earlier, he did not attend the traditional Way of the Cross procession due to unseasonably cold night-time temperatures in Rome.
