Below freezing temperatures hit Seattle

An Arctic blast has sunk the Seattle area to below freezing temperatures. The cold front also dumped a few inches of snow in Washington and now the sub-freezing temperatures are expected to linger for a few days. Emergency warming shelters were opened throughout western Washington and Oregon as temperatures plunged into the teens.
