'About To Strike': How Iran Positioned Missiles At U.S. Warships During Islamabad Talks

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has made strong claims regarding a tense naval episode involving a U.S. minesweeper. He stated that Iranian forces were prepared to respond if the vessel came any closer, adding that a warning was communicated directly to the American delegation. According to Ghalibaf, the situation de-escalated after the U.S. side requested a short time window during talks in Pakistan, following which the vessel reportedly withdrew. He also highlighted Iran’s military responsiveness, claiming a significantly reduced reaction time compared to earlier conflicts. These remarks come amid ongoing tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and wider Iran–U.S.–Israel regional dynamics.
