Maharashtra’s Covid-19 strategy in Dharavi earns Centre’s praise

Efforts led by the Maharashtra govt and BMC to aggressively target the tracing of Covid suspects in Dharavi drew the Centre’s praise. Dharavi has recently seen a sharp decline in infections. The growth rate reduced from 4.3% in May to further 1.02% in June in the densely populated slum. The proactive measures adopted by BMC reduced the growth rate to 4.3% in May and further to 1.02% in June. The BMC adopted a model of actively following the four Ts — tracing, tracking, testing and treating.
