Now, an old clip from a tabloid interview is doing rounds on social media where Malla had revealed how Arbaaz proposed to her on her birthday. She was quoted saying, “He was running with a high fever and was lying on a bed covered with a blanket. When he reached out his hand to wish me, his hand was shaking and burning with fever. To my utter surprise, he took out a box and gave me the most gorgeous diamond ring. I was touched and I cherish it till date.” In the same interview, Malaika also revealed that she and Arbaaz met during the shoot of an ad film and the duo developed an instant liking for each other. She said, 'I had never imagined that I would begin to like a man just conversing with him over the phone. None of us made the first move. It happened naturally! But Arbaaz was the one who asked me out'. Arbaaz and Malaika tied the knot in 1998 and four years later was blessed with a son, Arhaan Khan.
