Poonam Pandey Cast As Mandodari In Delhi Ramleela, BJP & VHP Demand Replacement

The Luv Kush Ramleela Committee in Delhi has announced that model-actor Poonam Pandey will play Mandodari (Ravana’s wife) in this year’s Ramleela at Red Fort. Though Pandey says the role is a dream come true and is preparing rigorously, the decision has drawn sharp criticism from BJP and VHP. They claim her past controversies and public image make her unsuitable for such a revered mythological character and have demanded her removal. The organisers, however, assert that art should transcend past actions and Pandey deserves this opportunity.
