Garima Saikia Garg, wife of late singer Zubeen Garg, broke down emotionally as she received his mortal remains at Guwahati airport. Thousands of fans and political leaders joined the farewell. The singer’s body was later taken to Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex for public viewing. The Assam government has declared three days of mourning in his honour.
