The recent heartfelt letter from the talented Telugu actor Nani has grabbed the public attention to discuss why 'Telugu actors are worried to go for an OTT release'? The actor clarified that he was unhappy with his films getting released back to back on OTT but he would stick to the decision of his producers' whether to release ‘Tuck Jagadish’ in film theaters or on OTT. Recently, senior actors Venkatesh & R.Naryanamurthy too was seen expressing the same displeasure about the film ‘Narappa’ releasing directly on the OTT but Venkatesh affirmed that he had to save his producers hence respected their decisions. The same goes with Nagarjuna and other heroes about their version of releasing films directly on OTT. A few reportedly argue if the Telugu actors are worried about disappointing their fans because their movies don't release to them in theaters? But, considering the pandemic situation, an OTT release would still force the same fans to watch the movie again and again with no extra charges! But not many will indeed get to watch Telugu actors' films if they are released directly on OTTs, As there are only 25% of people who have OTT subscriptions for Telugu Content, and the makers would miss the remaining mass audiences who would love to have theatrical experience. As per certain reports, the Indian consumption of OTT has reached over 1 billion subscriptions with all major platforms combined, still, the online release would not attract the mass audiences to certain regional films opines a few. Also, the fame measurement which is crucial for films won't happen as in theatrical release because the box office numbers, no. of days the movie ran will become uncountable now. All the above factors seem to be worrying Telugu stars now! Though this wasn't the case with Bollywood stars yet who are going back-to-back releases on the OTT.
