Ranjith's directorial 'Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha' has completed 12 years of its release on December 4. The film featured Mammootty in a triple role and Shwetha Menon essayed a pivotal role. She played the role of Cheeru and also bagged the Kerala State Film Award for best actress, for her performance in the film. Shwetha Menon has penned a heartfelt note as the film clocked 12. "12 Years of Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha Daniel D'Souza & Catherine (Mammukka @mammootty & me) of Answaram (1991) became Murikkinkunnath Ahmed Haaji & Cheeru through this 2009 movie!!! I want to thank @balakrishnan_ranjith Ranjith ettan for giving me "Cheeru" & persuading me to do it - it was entirely his vision that I will fit in as Cheeru after playing Meenakshi, a diametrically opposite character in his earlier movie Rock N' Roll. The film won four Kerala State Film Awards including the Best Film Award, Best Actor & Best Actress. I also want to thank all my co-stars - beautiful @mythili2424 (it was her debut film), @actor.sidhique Sidhique ikka, Sreeni chettan, Gowri Munjal, @sureshkrishna_5 , all the talented theatre artists who worked with us (it was great learning experience for me) plus the entire cast & crew of #PaleriManikyam for the excellent memories & experience of working with them in this movie!!," she penned in her social media post. On the work front, Shwetha Menon will be next seen in 'Pallimani'.
