Rajeev Pillai chooses flood rescue work over own wedding

The Kerala floods have revealed the heroes in many, and among them is Rajeev Pillai. The actor had planned a quiet wedding a few days ago, to fiancée Ajitha, an emcee and an engineering graduate, when the floods hit his native village, Nannoor in Thiruvalla. He didn’t have second thoughts about what should come first, the wedding or rescuing his fellowmen, and jumped to action. For the past 48 hours, Rajeev and a group of men have been involved in rescuing those marooned and saving them has been the only thing in his mind, he says.
