Malayalam actress reveals she left acting due to demands of sexual favours

In the wake of the #MeToo movement, a number of female artists came out in the open to talk about their casting couch experiences. And now, Malayalam actress Kani Kusruti revealed that she quit acting because the filmmakers demanded sexual favours for roles. The actress, who has done movies like 'Cocktail' and 'Shikkar', said that some of them even went to the extent of asking her mother to convince her to make 'adjustments'. She said that she went back to theatre but could not make much money. Kani added that she feels a bit safe to work in the industry now, after Women in Cinema Collective was formed in Mollywood. She shot to fame after her lead role in the short film, 'Maa'.
