Malayalam actor Vijay Babu arrested in alleged rape case; will undergo medical test

Malayalam actor and producer Vijay Babu has been arrested by Kerala police in an alleged case of sexual assault. Vijay was granted anticipatory bail by the Kerala High Court on June 22 and was asked to appear before Ernakulam South police station for questioning on June 27. Vijay was booked for rape after a woman actor accused him of torture and sexual assault after promising her better opportunities in the film industry. According to some reports, the police revealed that Vijay will undergo medical examination and will be released on bail subject on a bond for Rs 5 lakh with two backers each with the payable amount.
