Lijo Jose Pellisserry wins silver peacock at IFFI

Filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellisserry has once again taken Malayalam cinema to the world stage. For the second consecutive year, he has bagged the Silver Peacock for the Best Director at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) for Jallikattu, bagging it last year for his Ee.Ma.Yau. Jallikattu, based on S Hareesh's short story Maoist, has been much-lauded for its making. The movie, featuring Antony Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose and Sabumon Abdusamad, depicts the madness and chaos that follow when the men in a remote village in Kerala set out to capture a buffalo that escapes a butcher’s knife.
