‘KGF’ music director Ravi Basrur roped in for ‘Kaaliyan’

Mollywood actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has a couple of highly ambitious projects in the hand and according to the latest updates Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘Kaaliyan’ will have the ‘KGF’ music director Ravi Basrur to compose the music for the epic thriller. Prithviraj Sukumaran took to his official Instagram handle to announce the news that Ravi Basrur is roped in as the music director for the film. The actor’s Instagram note read, “Welcome to ‘Kaaliyan’ Ravi Basrur!” The post was soon flooded with comments from fans and the anticipation levels for Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘Kaaliyan’ soared. Helmed by the director S Mahesh, ‘Kaaliyan’ is touted as a period thriller and is mounted on a vast scale. The story which is written by BT Anil Kumar is set in the 1600s. Anil Kumar also has an untitled Sathyan biopic in the pipeline. ‘Kaaliyan’ tells the story of a great warrior ‘Kunjirakottu Kaali’ who unfortunately didn’t make it to the history books and is termed as a ‘forgotten hero’. Kunjirakottu Kaali was a close confidant of Venad kingdom’s commander-in-chief Iravikkutti Pillai. Based on such a thickened plot, ‘Kaaliyan’ promises to offer a technically flawless film. Apart from Prithviraj Sukumaran, the Tamil actor Sathyaraj is reportedly part of the cast of ‘Kaaliyan’ and the cinematography is reportedly done by Sujith Vaassudev. Meanwhile, Prithviraj Sukumaran is at the peak of his successful film career as he is offering back-to-back superhit films ‘Jana Gana Mana’, and the recently released ‘Kaduva’. The actor recently wrapped up the shoot for the survival drama ‘Aadujeevitham’ directed by the veteran filmmaker ‘Blessy.
