I want to essay a forensic surgeon in all his authenticity: Tovino

Tovino Thomas is on an investigative mode. The actor, who is playing a forensic officer in his upcoming movie Forensic, recently visited the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology and the Forensic Science lab of Kerala Police Academy in Thiruvananthapuram as part of the pre-production of the movie that is written and directed by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan. Tovino tells us that the team aims to present a factual account of the forensic procedures through the thriller and hence the visit to the labs. “I want to essay the processes such as DNA testing that my character does in the film with authenticity. So, I went there to understand these aspects,” he says, adding that Akhil and Anas have been consulting the researchers to avoid factual errors in the movie. “Though the film is a fiction with a lot of cinematic elements, it has to has be accurate,” he adds. Usually the forensic aspect of crimes isn’t given much significance in movies, he says. “This film is about the life of a forensic surgeon. My character is a medico-legal advisor and is part of an investigation. It has been a year since the scribes narrated the story to me and I have been excited since then. The film will be an engaging tale,” he says, adding that he has been working on the mannerisms and attitude of his character too.
