Baburaj gets in shape for his role in Omar Lulu's Power Star

A recent photo of Baburaj flexing his muscles at a gym has been doing the rounds online. The actor, who has been working out since the lockdown to get in shape for his role in Omar Lulu’s action-entertainer Power Star, tells us that hitting the gym is also aimed at a career overhaul that he has been contemplating for a year. “I have a resort and it has a well-equipped gym. During the lockdown, I spent a lot of time there. Since March, the fate of the cinema industry and theatres has been uncertain. Plus, nothing was happening on the work front and so, I decided to focus on upping my fitness levels,” says the 55-year-old actor.The actor is also hoping that his physical transformation will help get him different roles. “I started out playing negative characters and then made a shift to comedy. But I don’t want to be stereotyped as a comedy artiste and so, I wanted to use this time to transform my physique. If you want to stay relevant in our industry, it’s necessary now to stay fit,” he concludes.
