Actor cum Mimicry artist Azees Nedumangad announced his decision to stop impersonating actor Ashokan following the latter's expressed dissatisfaction with Azees's mimicry during a promotional event. Ashokan had openly criticized Azees's impersonation, calling it 'bad.' Responding to Ashokan's remarks during the press meet for the movie ‘Pazhanjan Pranayam,’ Azees emphasized the need to respect an individual's discomfort with humor and declared his decision to discontinue mimicking Ashokan, even if they had a friendly relationship. Earlier, Ashokan had expressed his views on mimicry artists, differentiating between those who perform well with affection and those who stretch performances beyond the original portrayal. He said that Azees was one among those who regularly mimicked him.
