AMMA meeting: For an organisation to admit they were wrong and be open to change is a big thing, says Joy Mathew

I’m not an executive committee member. But I had written a letter to AMMA last year expressing my disagreements. So they called me and asked me what my issues were. I had presented a few basic problems I had, with the very structure of the organisation. AMMA members are of different financial levels. It’s not like a gazetted officers’ organisation. Since many are dependent on others, expression of opinions might not always be possible. For the same reason, for making decisions, voting by ballot is required, not a mere raising of hands. It should be secret ballot. Whether it has to do with Dileep’s issue or that of the survivor, the general body can take a decision only that way. This request of mine was agreed upon.
