After the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, many celebrities came under the scanner of Narcotics Control Bureau. On the other hand, several celebrities from Kannada film industry also known as Sandalwood, too got arrested after raids were conducted at various places. Actresses Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani were arrested also arrested for their alleged involvement in the drug scandal that was connected to Bengaluru's nightlife industry with its showbiz industry. The actresses, who are currently out on bail and trying to get back to their professional lives, have yet again grabbed the limelight for this drug case. If reports are to be believed, their hair samples that were to the forensic laboratory for tests, have reportedly come positive for drug consumption. This news comes as it is almost close to a year since this entire drug scandal broke last year. Although there has not been any confirmation from the investigating agency yet, if they found guilty for drug consumption, the punishment is imprisonment up to one year or fine up to Rs 20,000 or both. Apparently there bail is also at risk. Last year on September 8, Sanjjanaa Galrani was arrested by the Central Crime Branch for her alleged links with drug peddlers. Sanjjanaa, who acted in films in several languages and is the elder sister of multilingual actress Nikki Galrani, was produced before a local court which remanded her in police custody for five days. Besides actress Ragini Dwivedi, who was arrested on September 4 last year, two event managers, an African drug supplier and a male model had been arrested in the drug peddling racket with links to Sandalwood.
