The ongoing second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic has brought in more unfortunate news for the Sandalwood patrons. Along with the updated 50% occupancy guidelines that are threatening to hamper the business, many actors and artists have been testing positive for the virus. Actors like Prajwal Devaraj, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, Milana Nagaraj, and Darling Krishna have had to take a much-required break as a result of the pandemic, and with the numbers only rising on a day-to-day basis, the situation certainly bleak for the industry. But the worst of all came along when actor and producer Dr. D.S. Manjunath succumbed to the deadly virus and breathed his last on the 18th of April. The untimely and tragic passing of the young actor has left his family and friends in complete disbelief with the film fraternity too expressing grief over the matter. Dr. D.S. Manjunath has previously produced films like 'Samyukta 2' and 'Chemistry of Cariappa' and was all set to make his feature debut as a leading man with the upcoming film 'Zero Percent Love'.
