South actress Sai Pallavi kicked up an uproar on social media with her controversial comments on the Kashmir genocide and mob lynching. Responding to the flack, Pallavi later had to issue a clarification on her remarks. The actress has already received backing from senior actor Prakash Raj and now another actress from Kolkata, Payel Sarkar, has said that what happened with Pallavi is unfair. It was nothing but a misinterpretation of her comments. However, at the same time, the Bengali actress also suggested that being a celebrity one has to be careful when commenting on issues publicly otherwise it will backfire, just like it happened with Sai Pallavi. However, Payel, supporting the young actress and her thoughts, further said that Pallavi made the comment from a humanitarian angle and that people should understand it. In her clarification video, Pallavi has already stated that according to her, ''all lives are equal and all lives are important'' and this way justified her comments on Kashmiri Pandits genocide and later compared Kashmiri Pandit's exodus with the lynching of a man suspected of cow smuggling. Her interview led to a nationwide furor online with people criticizing the actress for her comments and asking how she can compare two totally different incidents. On Saturday, in her clarification video, Pallavi made her point saying that violence in any form is wrong and violence in the name of religion is a huge sin. “This is the first time that I am getting in touch with all of you to clarify something and I think this will be the first time that I will be thinking twice before I speak my heart because I am anxious that my words might be misinterpreted. So forgive me, if I take a while longer than usual to communicate my thoughts, '' the actress said in the video.
