Bengali actress Rupa Dutta’s former co-star Ankush Hazra takes a hilarious dig at her after she was arrested for stealing wallets

Bengali actress Rupa Dutta was arrested recently for allegedly pick-pocketing at International Kolkata Book Fair 2022. A sum of Rs 75,000 was reportedly recovered from the actress. An officer at Kolkata’s Bidhannagar North police station revealed that cops got suspicious after seeing her throwing a bag in the dustbin. Now, Tollywood actor Ankush Hazra who made his debut with the film ‘Kellafate’, that also featured Rupa Dutta took a dig at the actress' arrest. Sharing a short video clip from a song from the film, Ankush wittily wrote, “Still remember my first film when i didnt hve enough money to carry any wallet . #ThankGod". Meanwhile, media reports suggest that after cops got suspicious seeing a woman throwing a bag in the dustbin, they interrogated her, during which discrepancies were found in her answers. Reportedly, post-interrogation, cops searched this woman, who later got identified as actress Rupa Dutta. Upon search, many money bags were recovered from her that reportedly had a total amount of Rs. 75000. A police officer said, 'The woman has been arrested in connection with 'kepmari' (attention-diverting theft) and further investigation is underway to find out whether more people are connected with the crime'. According to the police, Rupa Dutta is the same actress who had wrongly accused filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of sexual harassment a few years ago. Notably, back in 2020, Rupa had alleged that director-producer Anurag Kashyap sent her inappropriate messages on Facebook.
