The nation is mourning the loss of ‘Melody Queen’ Lata Mangeshkar. The legendary singer breathed her last on February 6 at the Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai. Since her unfortunate demise, fans have flooded the internet with her throwback pics, unseen videos and with the memories they have had with Lata Ji. The iconic singer has left behind an unparalleled legacy of musical notes. But did you know that Lata Ji once dabbled into acting. Yes you heard that right, Lata Mangeshkar made her acting debut with a Marathi movie. This iconic throwback video of Lata ji performing a song on screen has been doing rounds on social media. In the video Lata Ji can be seen performing a song onscreen. The film narrated the story of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and was directed by Lata Mangeshkar's mentor - Bhalji Pendharkar. Lata Mangeshkar Ji passed away after nearly a month of hospitalisation. She was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in January this year, after being diagnosed with COVID-19. The 92 year old singer died due to multi-organ failure. Lata ji was cremated at the Shivaji Park grounds in Mumbai. Her funeral procession was attended by hundreds. A sea of fans turned up to pay their last respects to the iconic singer. From politicians to actors – almost everyone turned up for the revered singer’s funeral. Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar was cremated with full state honors. The Government of India also announced two days of State mourning as a mark of respect to the legend.
