Veteran actress Sarika has revealed that during the COVID-19 pandemic-induced lockdown, she struggled financially and had to work in theatre. In an interview with a news portal, while opening up on her five-year-long break from her acting career, she said that during the lockdown, she ran out of money, due to which she had to work in theatres for just Rs. 2000-2700. She also admitted that it was a conscious decision to take a break from acting as she thought it would be for a year, but it turned out to be five years, owing to the pandemic.
