Urmila Matondkar denies joining Shiv Sena

Rumours of actress turned politician Urmila Matondkar joining Shiv Sena were rife. But now the actress has herself cleared the air and said in her recent interview that she will not be joining Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena. Earlier, it was reported that her name has been forwarded to Maharashtra governor B S Koshyari by the Shiv Sena for nomination to the Legislative Council from the governor's quota. Notably, the actress contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket and quit the party later citing ‘petty in-house politics’ as the reason.
