Suniel Shetty cautions people against a celebrity management company, says they give industry 'bad name'

One of the most versatile actors in Indian cinema, Suniel Shetty might not come on the silver screen often, but the actor keeps on interacting with his fans on various social media platforms. Recently, the actor urged everyone to be aware of a celebrity management agency. The agency, in a post, had said that the actor was available for special appearances and performances, etc, and is 'exclusively managed' by the agency. The actor has, however, shared a post on social media that said that he is sure that he, along with a lot of fellow colleagues who appear on the brand's official page is in no way affiliated with the group. He went on to add, 'I will be taking action against them through formal channels shortly. Until then, please do your own due diligence while associating with any such group'. The actor, in his statement, further expressed sorrow and said, 'Sadly, these kinds of people are the ones who give the industry a bad name'. However, this is not the first time that the actor has spoken up against a company for illegally using his name. A few days earlier, he had filed a police complaint against a production company agency for allegedly misusing his picture and name on its social media platforms without his 'knowledge, permission and approval'. The actor who has acted in more than 100 films to date came to know about the film production company circulating a poster of their upcoming film with his picture on it. This irked Suniel to an extent that he decided to take legal action against them and filed a complaint at Versova police station. The production company, in their defense, said that they did this by mistake. 'We made a mistake. We were preparing for the casting of our two films keeping two to three actors, including Shetty and Bobby Deol, in mind. We made a poster using their photos just to check how they look. But someone made the posters go viral on social media. The posters were later deleted'. Expressing his concern over the issue, Suniel had tweeted, '... more than using my picture and financial exploitation it is about exploiting young vulnerable talent!!'.
